“Business is not about solo genius. It is about collective genius” - Linda Hill

“Business is not about solo genius. It is about collective genius” - Linda Hill
The World Economic Forum says we need to “rethink responsible approaches to business”. According to Weill and Woerner (2018: 34), “Digital mobile technology offers enormous opportunities, for the first time, to interact with the end customer”. My questions are: (i) Have you taken advantage of mobile technology? (ii) Have you used mobile technology to disrupt your customer habits or used it to have a deeper connection with them? If not, let’s chat.
Wowos Club has indeed identified the opportunities that digitisation offers!
Warm regards,
Wonga Ntshinga,

What do you do differently from your competitors?
What do you do differently from your competitors? In other words, how do you develop a competitive advantage over your competitors so that you are much better?
We live in a global village, and we can’t wait for governments to resolve our challenges. We must analyse our operations and supply chains and deliver fit-for-purpose goods and services.
Jones (2014: 532) argues that “starting your own business is often a dream for many people, but it is also very risky”. Monzon (2021) reported that according to the National Credit Regulator, “most small businesses do not last more than two years due to their inability to access funding”. Monzon also points out that when business owners apply for funding in SA, the banks assess them on many factors, including liquidity, current ratios, credit scores, debtors’ books, and creditors’ books. Many small startups do not have this information, so they cannot provide it. In the same article, Monzon reported that by the end of June 2021, banks had declined 56% of applications due to businesses “not meeting the banks’ risk criteria“. At the same time, 82% of the approved loans went to enterprises with a turnover of R20m, with an average loan value of R1.22 million.
We have Business Angels in Wowos Club (WCBA), much like the Dragon Den TV. We can also show you (i) how easily it is to convert your assets into cash to meet your short-term obligations, (ii) how your company can fund its short-term operations (working capital), (iii) connect you to potential clients, and (iv) use our online marketplace and technologies to access new markets and new customers or provide a distinctive value proposition, and finally (v) help you reimagine your business models going forward.
Let us know if you need assistance with funding or pitching at WCBA or becoming a member of WCBA.
