Mandisi Dyantyis Interview
“Being honest to the moment”
One of the things Mandisi revealed in the Clement Manyathela 702 interview last week was that they were made to wake up at 4am to pray and sing for an hour. His granny would pray for that long. It is now becoming clearer to me that what we are trying to achieve in Wowos 5 am Club has been long ago achieved by our mothers, fathers, grannies and grandfathers.

Mandisi has talent and the interview reveals how important it is nature talent. Mandisi also had dreams. Clement asked him a question like, “when did you realise that you have this talent?”. His response was something like, “each time I watched people like Bra Hugh, I had something in me that told me that I can do this”.
Clement also complimented Mandisi on how he is able to connect with the audience and wanted to know how does he do this? Mandisi could not precisely answer this question and implied that it is a gift from God and his ancestors, but he works on this gift continuously and very hard.
Finally, Mandisi said “one needs to feel the music”. I think it was Michael Jackson who said the same about dancing. I guess this is applicable to all that we do. We have to feel it!
