What gets #measured gets improved - #EddiePinero

Afternoon 5amers

This morning as I was driving my son to school (since I could not wake up at 5 am), I listened to Eddie Pinero. I was inspired by what he covered in a few minutes and wanted to share it with you.

What gets measured gets improved - he started his podcast. This immediately caught my attention.

1. He says that if we do not measure what we want to improve, we sabotage ourselves.

2. He gives an example:  "If you want to improve weight but never look at the scale, then you are hurting yourself". You will never know whether you are on the right track or not.

3. He emphasizes that we should not operate blank but track and monitor our growth (in any aspect).

4. He says measuring or tracking your growth or progress keeps you in the game.

5. He closes off by saying: "It is critical that we do not only look, but we also see."

How are you measuring your growth or progress, any strategies you follow?

I generally use Strava to track and monitor all running and workout activities. I get so motivated every time I see myself doing better times or pushups than last year and running a specific segment faster. This has kept me running long distances for over six years, and I never thought I could do it, but measuring progress keeps you in the game.

I  use vision boards and spreadsheets to track my goals (targets and misses) over the years. It feels very good to look at the goals I set in 2014 and see how much of those little goals I have achieved.

I would love to hear how you measure your progress or growth, as I still lack in measuring my social and mental side of things👊🏽
