He gives warnings on the use of social media and technologies. It was Zibuse L Kunene who once wrote to us as follows:
“It’s easy today to make acquaintances and believe them to be friends, equally easy to have conversations going on simultaneously with multiple people thinking we are giving them our attention. It is often deceiving to believe that our quick responses to text messages is being good even when we don’t have the time to be attentive to those conversations. Sometimes, as we respond or engage in conversation, we are also doing something else. We then miss subliminal messages, we miss the tones on the texts, we overlook the facial expressions. We, therefore, need to resolve to have focused attention in every conversation we are in without allowing distractions.”
