Suppose you take the GDP output of December 2022 and compare it with the GDP output of January 2023. In that case, the trend is that there was much higher economic activity in December 2022 than in January 2023.
So generally, the inflation has eased not due to market efficiencies and self-sufficiency but merely because of lower economic activity assisted by MPC’s repo rate increases, among others.
